Casting the Future aims to provide resources that can be used to help you engage with your local school, college or university, to promote your company and the wider casting industry and find apprentices and young recruits for your business.
Resources include:
- Complete kit to help you demonstrate the casting process in primary & secondary schools, colleges and universities, fully portable and no need for any special facilities.
- Videos to showcase the industry and resources to use for presentations and talks.
- Help and advice on hosting visits, work experience students or apprentices.
- Ideas for resources to support teachers and lecturers, scalable for one lesson or longer term design projects.
- Training for staff, or access to a qualified teacher to provide a full lesson (chargeable).
- Help to find a school, college or university local to you that will work with you on educational or community based projects.
- Careers and employability information for those interested in a career in the foundry industry or the wider engineering sector.
We have access to a qualified teacher who can take a lesson or organise an activity (chargeable at supply teacher rates, not available in all regions).
Contact Cast Metals Federation for more information on these and other resources to support STEM learning and how to find apprentices or work placement students.
